Watsons Malaysia Returns with Largest Zumba Event!

Asia’s leading health and beauty retailer is back with its highly successful and record breaking Move Your Body Zumba event. This annual Zumba event presented by Watsons Malaysia is expected to be the most talked about health and fitness event of the year.

Last year, Watsons Move Your Body Zumba was the largest Zumba event in Malaysia with more than 5,360 participating in the glow in the dark theme Zumba. And the year before that, Watsons Move Your Body Zumba created a new record and still is the largest Zumba gathering with more than 7,000 participants held in Penang. And this time around, Watsons Move Your Body Zumba will bring a new level of fun and exciting experience with the biggest Zumba beach party together with international Zumba presenters and top Malaysian DJs.

The 2017 edition is slated to be held on 21 October 2017 at Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach and expecting more participants than last year to sweat it all out with Zumba routines in collaboration with international Zumba organization in the United States, Zumba Fitness.

NATURALS BY WATSONS DONATES FOR WILDLIFE CONSERVATION - Donation Drive Held In Conjunction with World Tapir Day to Raise Awareness on Endangered Species

The World Tapir Day held annually on 27 April aim to raise awareness about tapir species that inhabit the Central and South America and Southeast Asia.

And in conjunction with the World Tapir Day, Naturals by Watsons launched a nationwide donation wide to raise funds for the ‘Treasure Our Tapirs’ campaign by Ecotourism and Conservation Society Malaysia (ECOMY).

This campaign aimed to showcase the Malayan Tapir as the primary focus to educate the public on the importance of conserving Malaysia’s natural heritage – the forests and wildlife, and understanding that conserving the environment is key to our own well-being.

The donation drive which began from 4 – 24 April 2017 at Watsons stores nationwide and Online were made possible through the selling of Naturals by Watsons product range where RM1 is donated to ECOMY during the period.

 “Watsons Malaysia is proud to join efforts with ECOMY and empower the community where we live in. And I would like to thank Watsons VIP Members and members of the public for the purchasing of Naturals of Watsons product range during the donation month. This cheque presentation today is a collaboration effort from all,” said Caryn Loh, General Manager and Country Head of Watsons Malaysia.

At the cheque presentation held at Zoo Negara, Caryn presented the mock cheque totalling RM18,902 raised during the donation drive period to Andrew Sebastian, CEO and co-founder of ECOMY. The mock cheque presentation was also witnessed by Low Siew Hui, Finance and IT Director, Watsons Malaysia and A.S. Watson Group Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Ambassador, Danny Hoh, Customer Director, Watsons Malaysia, Foo Hwei Jiek, Head of Trading, Watsons Malaysia and Raja Zainariah, Associate at ECOMY.

Andrew said, “Thank you to Watsons Malaysia for this generosity and truly and honour to partner with Naturals by Watsons to raise funds for ECOMY. We intend to continue to work with tapirs and other precious wildlife to educate our young and future generations through campaigns like this,”

The team flagged off at Central Market, KL, where we all initially gathered to have a welcoming speech & some instructions on how to play (yes, it was a competition!)

Traditional Balinese Yoga @ Mandara Spa

Happy 20th Annivery to Mandara Spa @ Sunway Resort! & to celebrate, they invited Guru Made Sumantra from Ubud, Bali, for a traditional Balinese yoga session

A week ago, I was honored to join this eye-opening experience, and it felt so relaxing & energetic!

The treatment is called "Prakat" healing, where three types of energy are used in each state:

- Prana (Bio Energy) on Body
- Kundalini (Awareness Energy) on Mind
- Atman (Soul Power Energy) on Soul

With this, the positive vibration will be raised from the soul into the mind and body.

It was my first time doing Yoga, so it was quite difficult for me to concentrate and focus. But Sumantra was very friendly, and guided me on how to breathe.

We had several breathing exercises, as well as stretches too. With this, we were fully able to transfer and control all of the energy that flowed in our bodies.

Balinese yoga focuses more on breathing, so we really had to relax and concentrate. And just by breathing alone, the energy really flowed from within.

So, who's Guru Made Sumantra?

Well, he was born in the village of Banjar Payogan, Ubud, and grew up in a family of traditional Balinese shaman healers.

He has been conducting yoga sessions for many many years, and sharing the wonderful yoga experience to all
